Ghatasthapana

या देवी सर्वभुतेषु बुद्धिरूपेण संस्थिता ।
 नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः

meaning - To that Devi Who in All Beings is Abiding in the Form of IntelligenceSalutations to HerSalutations to HerSalutations to HerSalutations again and again.

Fondly remember the "Makhar Pooja" at Shantadurga Temple in Verem, Goa. For nine days the Shantadurga used to sit in the swing (Makhar) decorated with flowers. It is a tradition followed in all "Shantadurga" temples in Goa. Legend has it that "Devi" took a shanta, serene form after killing a devil (rakshas) and settled in Goa. That is why most of Durgas in Goa are called "Shantadurga".

We did not worship Devi at home, but made sure that we offer naivedhya of "Puran Poli". Gauri really got great at rolling them. Have a look at the photo.
